ONIX
Griffin Brown has proven expertise providing consultancy and software systems that incorporate or use the ONIX International eCommerce standards for publishing industry information.
ONIX has come about as a result of collaboration between publishers, booksellers, intermediaries and system vendors under the umbrella of the EDItEUR consortium. In the UK its development is overseen by BIC (Book Industry Communication).
All the leading recipients of publishing eCommerce data (e.g., Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Nielsen Bookdata) are able to receive ONIX data digitally.
Our ONIX services include:
- Providing assistance creating ONIX records from existing data (for example data held in databases or spreadsheets)
- Advice on the use of ONIX International (and the emerging ONIX for Serials)
- Production of DTDs / Schemas that incorporate or interoperate with ONIX data
- Design and development of systems that 'talk' ONIX (we are the developers of BIC's own ONIX editing software)
More information on ONIX can be found at the EDItEUR web site.
